The Main directorate of Migration is the organism in charge to guard by the fulfillment of the laws and norms that regulate the entrance that exit from nationals and foreigners to Dominican territory, as well as, to regularize the permanence in the country of those immigrants, that according to its particular cases, fulfill the requirements necessary.

The Dominican Secretariat of State of Outer Relations and consulates abroad constitute the first meeting point for the nationals of other countries interested in visiting the Dominican Republic or transferring their residence to the country. The first step to enter the Dominican territory is to obtain a Visa or Tourist Card. Later, the foreigners can make businesses in the Dominican Republic or simply to enter and to leave freely the country in order to make businesses, by means of the obtaining of Visa.
